I have an 09 Ram with the REN radio. I purchased an Allgig and the AV cable. I bought the factory handle rear view camera. My question is can I hookup the camera through the radio connector as per the instructions? See attachment. Do I have to hookup the camera differently? I also have the factory UConnect do I have to do anything with the Allgig or just leave that as is?

Hello Medic,

Thank you for your purchase.

You have a couple of options for hooking up the camera.  First, if you wish to be able to use the camera at any time, not just in reverse, you will need to connect our White/Red wire to the Camera's power wire (Pin 1).  I would need to know what sort of harnesses/connectors the camera came with and what you already have in your vehicle (rear screen/rear A/V jacks) to tell you what to connect next.

I assume your UConnect is on a separate T-Harness, which should be connected to the radio first, and then to our harness.

Thanks,

Tony Y.

Hi Tony,

I do want to use my camera anytime. There is no connector on the wiring harness. There is pins already attached to the wires so that they can be inserted into the factory harness. As for the Uconnect it's factory and I wanted to if I had to change the settings in the allgig?

Hi Medic,

Can you send me a picture of the camera and whatever connectors/harnesses it came with?

How is the UConnect connected to the radio?

Thanks,

Tony Y.

I tried to get some pics but my phone won't see to give them up. I'll try later after work.

Medic,

That's good to hear, but don't keep me in suspense, how did you end up connecting it?

Thanks,

Tony Y.
