Here is a fix for the "driving backwards bug" resetting the calibration of the GPS.
I just thought it may help you... I have to do this from time to time.
===================
OK First off the MyGIG engineering menu is a dangerous place...
Please be VERY careful when using this menu.
To access the Engineering Menu of your MyGIG:
Press the 3 Hard Keys on the front of the unit all at the same time : SEEK UP / SEEK DOWN / MENU
( Not while driving... the latest version of the MyGig software will prevent you from accessing the menu while moving )
Once done correctly you should see a screen that looks like this..

Press page down on the screen till you get to page 4 of 5

Press the
Nav Debug Menu button on the screen and you will get a
blank option screen....
Press the page up button on the screen three times till you see a new option Reset Calibration is seen

Press the
Reset Calibration button on the screen and the button changes over to
Calibration has been reset
Now just keep hitting the big left facing arrow in the upper left hand corner of the screen till you get back to the normal radio screen and the NAV should show you driving in the right direction again.
If the satellite count continues to be low, you may have to do this again etc...
Sorry for the cell phone pics ...

Good luck!
