I purchased a FLIR Pathfindir II with accessories. The price came to $3993 including shipping. Why did NAV-TV hold $4,550 against my credit card? Why the extra money? If that is a temporary hold, what is the purpose?

The extra amount is only a temporary hold, as you suspected. And we do this in case you need to upgrade your order or your shipping speed. As soon as the order is actually processed on our side and shipped, your card will be charged the correct amount, and the balance on hold will disappear.
