The video does not go into detail on the install. The video shows only the connections of the NTV Kit 626 to the Mylink and not to the OEM Backup Camera. HELP!!!

Hey Evan,

Are you adding an OEM backup camera? or an aftermarket back up camera?

typically if someone is installing any of our kits, they've installed aftermarket rear cameras before, and use industry-common installation practices. If you're not familiar, it may be best to take your vehicle to one of our dealers. Where are you located?

The gist of a camera installation is to mount the camera and run the cables forwards along with factory harnesses, and find a 12v ACC source (turns on and off with key) for power, and tap a ground wire or secure to some clean metal in the dash somewhere. Signal connects into our KIT626.

I am installing a OEM camera on a Chevy Sonic part number 95377073 to Mylink. I live in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. Thanks!

The camera has 6 wires, 1 red, 1yellow, 1 black, 1 white, 1 brown and one gray that come from the camera. So I understand the red hot and the black ground. What about the, yellow, white, brown, gray, wires?

Using an OEM camera will work, though it would be a bit more work on your end. Our KIT626 was designed for an aftermarket composite camera (thus the composite INPUT for camera and not differential, which is OEM).

The camera you have there is differential video standard, not composite but should still work. You'll need to cut the end off of the RCA on our GM-K T-Harness, strip and connect some wires. I've attached a pinout and diagram for the OEM camera, let me know if it matches. NOTE: the colors will not be the same, likely because the diagram i have is a different location in the car, but the pin out should be the same, so follow the pin #'s and NOT the wire colors.

Connect:

PIN 1 to the center (signal) of the RCA (female) on our T-Harness from GM-K kit
PIN 4 to the shield of the RCA (female) on our T-Harness from GM-K kit
PIN 5 to a ground (-) source
PIN 6 to an ACC/IGN (+) source (power wire that shuts off with the car)

Let me know if it works out. I'd suggest testing this up front in the car before mounting an running the cable just in case.
