connecting Rydeen 360 ll to 2016 Mustang

connecting Rydeen 360 ll to 2016 Mustang

Hi, I'd like to install a Rydeen 360 ll camera system to my 2016 (Australian) Mustang which has the Ford 8" screen. What do I need to connect the Rydeen to the screen? I currently have the OEM reversing camera. Could this connection be used or will I need another interface? Thank you

Hi William,

does the Mustang have Sync 3 (the new style) or is it still SYNC 2?

If SYNC 2, use our MY TOUCH VIM F-CAM kit, KIT422 https://navtv.com/products/NTV-KIT422/mytouch-vim13f-cam.html combined with the DIFF CAM SWITCHER kit, KIT437 https://navtv.com/products/NTV-KIT437/diff-cam-switcher.html to get you the extra video in and yes - it uses the same rear camera input that the factory uses.

Hey Will,

It is certainly possible to disconnect the OEM reverse camera and input the Rydeen system instead, but then the Rydeen system would only show while in reverse - if this is acceptable, then aside from requiring a DIFF-CAM module you'd be all set. The DIFF-CAM module (https://navtv.com/products/NTV-KIT314/uct-diff-cam.html) converts to differential video standard (which the FORD system requires) from composite signal standard (which the Rydeen outputs).

If you want to be able to view the aftermarket video at any time, then you need a way to force the camera (or other input) to show when the car is NOT in reverse, that really is the difficult part. The fact that reverse in this vehicle is sent over data, makes it impossible for this to happen without some sort of data-integration piece, like our F-CAM kit.
